DESCRIPTION:The Baltic Engagement Centre for Combating Information Disorders (BECID) invites professionals from the GLAM sector – galleries\, libraries\, archives\, and museums – to take part in an online webinar dedicated to strengthening media literacy and addressing disinformation within cultural heritage institutions. \nWHEN: 2 February\, 16:00 (EET) \nWHERE: Online via Zoom link \nCulture as a Tool to Counter Disinformation \n\nOn the Latvian side\, this webinar will highlight the experience and initiatives of the non-governmental organisation New East\, which uses cultural approaches to tackle disinformation. Participants will be introduced to a variety of formats – theatre performances\, exhibitions\, think tanks\, art workshops\, and more – and will gain in-depth insight into the mono-performance “Man and the Tyrant” as a powerful example of how art can foster critical thinking and strengthen societal resilience to disinformation\nAs part of the Estonian-side programme\, the webinar will also feature a seminar at the intersection of culture and media.
