We are pleased to announce that the ethical review of the BECID2 project has now been completed and published. The report was prepared by our ethics mentor, Marten Juurik, and provides an independent reflection on the key ethical dimensions of the project.
The review looks at three main areas: the involvement of people in project activities, the use and protection of personal data, and the use of AI tools. It also offers practical recommendations on working with vulnerable and underserved groups, handling potentially polarising topics such as gendered disinformation, and ensuring the safety of partners, students, and participants.
The ethics report confirms that BECID2 is well aligned with established ethical principles, while also encouraging continuous attention to transparency, inclusivity, and responsible communication as the project moves forward. We thank Marten Juurik for his thorough work and valuable guidance for the consortium.
