Strengthening Fact-Checking Across the Baltic Region and EDMO Hubs
To enhance fact-checking efforts within the BECID network, other EDMO fact-checking hubs, and across the Baltic States, our research team is conducting a comprehensive analysis of current fact-checking practices and tools. This includes:
- Reviewing existing literature and fact-checking tools;
- Comparing workflows and methodologies used by different fact-checking organizations;
- Studying how various audiences respond to and perceive fact-checking content;
- Analyzing relevant media and platform regulations.
Based on this research, we will develop a shared methodology for evaluating the effectiveness of fact-checking and propose a unified code of conduct for BECID fact-checkers. The ultimate goal is to strengthen our collective ability to counter disinformation and better protect vulnerable audiences from its harmful impact.
